SHOCKINGLY, TV IS BAD FOR BABIES
03.03.09
“Honey, where’s the baby?” “In the TV room, by the viper cage.”
Somebody actually paid money for a study of television’s effect on infants, and surprise! TV is bad for babies.
A new study showed that viewing TV as an infant doesn’t improve a child’s language and visual motor skills, disputing claims made by products such as Baby Einstein and Brainy Baby…
“TV exposure in infants has been associated with increased risk of obesity, attention problems and decreased sleep quality,” said Michael Rich, the pediatrician who directs the Center on Media and Child Health and contributing author on this study. “Parents need to understand that infants and toddlers do not learn or benefit in any way from viewing TV at an early age.”
Welp, there’s the last two generations explained. On the other hand, parents point out, TV makes babies quiet, which beats the hell out of dealing with the goddam kid and reading to it or some shit.

Depends on what you watch – Sesame Street will teach the kiddies to count and spell…PBS will make the kids bored, but informed…VH1 will turn your child into a dumb fucking slut who can work the pole…
i wached plentie of tv growing up and i’m phine.
ED-209 gets a bad rap really.
Needs more whiskey rubbed on the gums
Ah c’mon, a little Robocop never hurt anyone.
It does however improve their ability to use Simpsons quotes.
Also bad for babies: replacing pacifier with Camel Lights.
If the authors of this study want to soothe my one-year-old when she throws a tantrum at 5am, they’re welcome to come over. If not, I’m turning on the TiVo for her.
“Parents need to understand”
Did The Fresh Prince teach us nothing?
P.S.
Is that baby covering itself in feces?
