KANYE IS A GAY FISH
04.09.09I don’t like to recap shows, because if you watched it, you already know what happened, and if you missed it, then it’s kind of an “F you” insider-joke thing. But I can make an exception for “South Park,” because they put their entire episodes online.
Which brings us to last night’s episode (watch it here). The premise is a joke that blurs the line between “fishsticks” and “fish dicks,” thus making anyone who enjoys fishsticks a gay fish. Except Kanye West, who of course is too humorless and self-absorbed to get the joke. And then Carlos Mencia takes credit for coming up with the joke, yadda yadda, and the show wraps with Kanye realizing via autotune singing that he is, indeed, a gay fish. The payoff:
I liked the part where he made out with a fish. If it’s good enough for Troy McClure AND Kanye West, it has to be awesome. **dials sushi restaurant** “Hello? I’m gonna need a LOT of tuna.”

To be honest, I didn’t find the episode very funny. Needed some Randy Marsh.
Enrico, maybe not really funny but anytime Carlos Mencia gets beaten to death, I count it as a win-win for everyone. Making fun of Kanye? Icing on the cake.
I found the episode to be sub-standard for most of it (making fun of Mencia and Kanye West is like shooting gay fish in a barrel), but the ending saved it.
Also Enrico, sorry for ruining your pristine reputation.
The show sucked last year and hasn’t really improved this year. Maybe they need to hire more manatees to write the show.
That’s just an urban legend, people don’t do that type of thing with fish.
Last 5 minutes were hilarious….and how could you not think the mickey episode was a classic (haha)
Gay? I wish! If I were gay they’d be no problem! No, what I have is a romantic abnormality, one so unbelievable that it must be hidden from the public at all cost. You see…
The best part of this episode though was Cartman and his ego. This was significantly better than last week’s “Randy” episode, which was nearly the worst episode they have ever produced, barring maybe the Oprah episode.
The worst episode ever was the one where they all got weapons and pretended to be ninjas. The Japanese-style rendering of their alter-egos sucked but what was worse was when Butters got his eye poked out. I found it painful to watch Butters continuing to get degraded as he was crying and bleeding. I thought Stan and Kyle didn’t follow character, because I think they would get Butters to the hospital and not go along with Cartman under the circumstances. That whole episode makes my stomach churn. I automatically change the channel if they rerun that one.
