In semi-frowny-face news, last night’s “American Idol” was almost derailed when the show’s stage manager fell from “the set second story of the set down onto the stage 14 feet below. According to witnesses, there was ‘a lot of blood.’ We later learned that Debbie had somehow cut her thigh open in the fall and required more than 50 stitches.” The snafu kept the audience from being seated until just 15 minutes before the live show. ZOMG! We very nearly had a night without Idol! For once.
Oh, and if you were looking for some more reasons to love the most popular show on television, Simon Cowell makes $36 million a season. We pay teachers that much, right? Just checking.
And finally, below is the video from Adam Lambert’s performance of Led Zeppelin’s “Whole Lotta Love” on the show’s rock ‘n roll-themed night. It’s pretty good as “Idol” performances go, but the Washington Post’s TV critic actually wrote this sentence: “Just listened to the original on YouTube — Lambert’s version was better.” Quick! Somebody get my Scanners .gif! I suppose that’s why she’s a critic for TV, and not music.

Just listened to this and it in no way compares to Robert Plant.
Robert Plant sounded like a man that was about to bang the soul out of your vagina when he sang this song.
This guy just sounds like a guy that likes to sing, not powerful like Robert Plant.
going to Youtube for a “Whole lotta love” refresher before writing a music critique? Really?
I just quickly re-watched “The Ten Commandments” before going to take confessional from the condemned on Death Row.
Puts Robert Plant to shame.
Plant could never get away with that much eye makeup.
