05.11.09 CNN INVESTIGATES KEYBOARD CAT PHENOMENON
The Keyboard Cat meme that has taken over YouTube isn’t exactly hard to explain: users take video of awkward mishaps, then cut to an old video of a cat being manipulated to play the keyboard. There’s no real need to go deeper than that: it’s just one of those endearing and silly things that the Internet does so well.
But go deeper is exactly what CNN did. They spoke to the original owner (he lives in Spokane!) of the cat (Fatso, he died), and they even solved the mystery of how he got the cat to play the piano. Hard-hitting work! I smell a Peabody!
