I PROMISE TO START WATCHING THIS
05.22.09Several people with excellent taste have threatened to do bodily harm to me if I don’t start watching “Burn Notice,” so I thought I’d mention that season 3 will premiere on June 4th on the USA Network. It stars Jeffrey Donovan as an ex-spy stuck in Miami (not a bad place to get stuck, frankly) after the government terminates his contract and Gabrielle Anwar — who has a lifetime awesome pass for Things to Do in Denver When You’re Dead — as a former IRA operative and his ex-girlfriend. Even better, it features fellow lifetime awesome pass-holders Bruce Campbell and Tricia Helfer (the former for Evil Dead/Army of Darkness, the latter for her Playboy shoot).
Judging by the promotional photos, the show is about lounging around by the pool in cool clothes, but the trailer (after the jump) seems to indicate there’s a lot more going on, like roundhouse kicks and explosions and chicks in minidresses wielding shotguns. Sounds a lot like my life. The lounging part, I mean.

It must be awesome to be an ex-government worker lying around a pool all day in $3500 suits. How much does the CIA Pay again?
Oh here we go! [www.cia.gov]
Very good show. I would definitely recommend tuning in.
This show kicks ass. Bruce Campbell, boobies, and spy shit. What else is there?
That chick is pretty hot, but in desperate need of a titjob.
I finally started watching this at the end of the last season. Pretty solid.
Hard to go wrong with Bruce Campbell and a setting where apparently 50% of all people are scantily-clad bikini models.
I tried to get into this show but it’s too boring for me. Jeffrey Donovan is so lifeless I have a hard time believing he isn’t a zombie with a computer chip in his brain controlling him. That chick tries to look sexy but she ends up looking like a deflated Christina Aguilera with make-up removed.
I can’t help feeling it would be better as a non-traditional sitcom starring Bruce Campbell (Evil Dead Trilogy FTW! His other stuff is good too) as an ex-CIA agent. Then again, I think just about anything can be improved by inserting Bruce Campbell in it (ask my mom).
Definitely worth your time. It is an engaging show – a great mix of action, drama and comedy, almost Shakespearean. OK, that might be a bit of an exaggeration….but it is good. If you can, DVR the upcoming season and get the DVDs of the previous seasons. Great episodes, and you’ll be up to speed (not that it is necessary, the premise of the show is summarized during the opening credits of each episode).
that chick is in need of a sandwich. but its a pretty entertaining show. macgyver without a mullet
Things to Do in Denver When You’re Dead the most under appreciated film of all time.
Also:
I am Godzilla and you are fucking JAPAN!!!!
I agree with Om that she needs a sandwich. Maybe even two. Her stick-like body is the only bad part about the show, especially when all the establishing shots have way hotter women in them.
Apparently all the fanciness they do on the show actually works too!
I’m pretty sure its the 4th season home girl
long time lurker… first time poster… here to say you are a total jackass if you don’t watch this show … one of the 3 shows i watch on tv and you should too … you know having a tv blog and all.
