Some people are catching on that HBO’s “True Blood” is nice to look at but horribly acted, so so Season 2 is going to go the only route to correct those impressions: make it nicer to look at.  Specifically, more nudity and lesbians.

In tune with the “popcorn for smart people” label that creator Alan Ball once assigned the show, he promises a second season of “just more — sexier, hotter, funnier, scarier, more violent.”

And the lesbian action will come from vampire queen Evan Rachel Wood.  Says Wood of her character:

“Her name’s Sophie-Anne, and she’s the Vampire Queen of Louisiana. There’s a queen for every state, and that’s hers. And she’s kind of a cross between Patrick Bateman and Paris Hilton. She’s crazy. She’s just crazy. And she’s a lesbian.” [After Ellen]

“True Blood” is about the only show on television where the lesbian kiss won’t equal jumping the shark.  Partly because people are basically just watching for the sex anyway.  But mostly because EVAN RACHEL WOOD SEX SCENES and EVAN RACHEL WOOD LESBIAN SCENES and EVAN RACHEL WOOD NUDE are always relevant in my eyes.
