ABC.com will roll out a fake documentary about the Dharma Initiative, the mysterious research program that settled the island decades before the characters on the show crash-landed there.
Mysteries of the Universe: The Dharma Initiative is a five-part short-form series that debuts on ABC.com on August 4 in the build up to the sixth and final season of Lost later this year.
The online ‘documentary’ is set in the early 1980s and attempts to “uncover the truth about the shadowy organisation” through interviews, research and eyewitness accounts.
Really, “Lost” fans? You guys aren’t actually going to watch this, are you? I mean, I’m cool with you watching the show — it’s a good show — but does fandom really run that deep? An online fake documentary. Before you watch it, I want you to do one thing: think back to when you were a kid and try to remember what you wanted to be when you grew up. If “Comic Book Guy” from the Simpsons is your answer, then go ahead and watch it.

Go check out Lostpedia.
I believe the address is alt.obsessive.nerds.com
I like to think back to the first episode of “Lost” and remember how I thought it was going to be all “Robinson Crusoe”, polar bears, and Evangeline Lilly in a bikini. Not a show about a time traveling island, a weird cult, wacky destiny and reincarnation, and baby stealing. Jus’ Sayin’
I can understand how this will be helpful to the writers. They can answer many fans’ questions about The Dharma Initiative in these docs, leaving room to concentrate on the important stuff in the final series: killing off that slut Kate and jamming in as many gratuitous shots of
Sawyer with his shirt offJuliet’s cleavage as they can. It’s Jeff Albertson, dammit!
It IS Jeff Albertson. And my name is also Bort.
You know you are about the shittiest blogger I have ever seen. I think that you are the only person that blogs about something they seem to hate. I know television can be shitty but I don’t think that you ever have anything good to say about anything. Unfortunately I can’t find any other television blogs that I like so I’m stuck with you…for now.
Well, he seems to hate TV slightly less than he hated sports.
Yeah!
mmmmm…
Methinks SOMEBODY is just jealous they don’t have a very rare photo of Sean Connery signed by Roger Moore…
I know television can be shitty but I don’t think that you ever have anything good to say about anything.
Hey, I just said “Lost” is a good show. And stuff that sucks is way funnier.
I always preferred George Lazenby to Moore or Connery.
“And stuff that sucks is way funnier.”
Dane Cook excepted.
I like that he writes about things he hates, he seems to hate all the same things I do, and even some things that I like.
I just hope it’s set to ’80s music. I can’t get enough of that Flock of Seagulls!
SUCK MY DICK YOU SON OF A BITCH
LOST fandom runs deep because the show is incredibly deep. There is so much to the mythos they cannot fit it in to the series. There is a very complex backstory and in fact I am glad that the writers put this much love in to their program.
PS: Make fun of LOST again, and I’ll cut you.
I’m with Jacob on this one
I’ll definitely be watching.
This is a boring ass site. Sorry.
With a show like Lost, any information you can get is good. If you don’t watch the show, then you’re not asking questions like “What exactly is the Dharma Intiative?” and since it’s been revealed that we’re not getting any information on Dharma, then this web series will serve its purpose. You don’t have to be a Comic Book Guy clone to follow Lost closely.
Havent you heard of ARGs? How long have you been online dood?
I didn’t do any of the args stuff..because it sounded like a waste of time. But given that this is probably the only way we’re going to get answers about the Dharma initiative I’ll probably watch it.
All the shows are on hiatus till the Fall so there isn’t anything watchable on tv in the summer anyways. I just hate that they release all sorts of little things like this and the args that have facts about the show and they expect you to have seen it in order to get answers for certain plots in the show – like the numbers that disappeared. Apparently it was revealed in one of the args that it was the ship port numbers that the black rock was anchored in before heading out for the island.
I don’t see what the problem is with them having extra material available to fans in other media. They won’t be the first to have “webisodes” or alternative media. Just because you aren’t in to it doesn’t mean that those who are are obsessed. Get down off your high horse already.
“I mean, I’m cool with you watching the show — it’s a good show — but does fandom really run that deep?”
Of course it runs that deep. Do we care about your opinion, blogger?
Blogger
“Term used to describe anyone with enough time or narcissism to document every tedious bit of minutia filling their uneventful lives. Possibly the most annoying thing about bloggers is the sense of self-importance they get after even the most modest of publicity. Sometimes it takes as little as a referral on a more popular blogger’s website to set the lesser blogger’s ego into orbit.
I’ll be watchin’ it. Then going out to the club, picking up the hottest chick, and gettin’ laid. What are you going to be doing? Blogging from your parent’s basement about how much you hate some other TV show? Really what’s worse? Knowing everything about a show because you enjoy it or knowing everything about a show so you can then make fun of those who know everything about it and enjoy it. What a fucked up, depressing life you must have. I’d write more, but I’m going out to get a girl for tonight. Enjoy your misery asshole.
dont talk shit about lost!
its a good show!, u just got to believe
and i think its good that people get this involved, it makes it more of an experience
I agree with all the assholes who called you an asshole.
