Millions and millions of people watched Michael Jackson’s star-studded memorial service yesterday, and it ran the gamut from touching and sweet to ridiculously overblown (Really, Magic Johnson? Michael Jackson made you a better point guard?). But, as WWTDD noted, nothing beat ol’ Crazy Eyes McGee here. He got them wild eyes, like a horse you gotta shoot (video after the jump).
The other video below is Jennifer Hudson’s performance of “Will You Be There,” which I thought was probably the best part after the crazy eyes. However, if you’re into this sort of thing, check out Broken Cool’s excellent list of the top ten moments from the memorial. It’s got everything from Brooke Shields talking about her friendship with MJ to Paris Jackson crying as she says she loves her daddy. It really helped humanize Jackson for me. Or maybe “humanize” isn’t quite the right word. How about “de-freakify”?

What is wrong with all these people hating on Michael. They obviously can’t see the kindness of his heart or the magnitude of his talent. Michael has never and would never harm a child. No he’s not perfect but his talent sure was. I sense racism and hatred from Michael’s accusers.

My Jackson Memorial Highlight: Not watching a fucking single second of it.
Let’s all take a deep breath, relax, and think about all the good things that Michael Jackson gave us. And then we can do the same thing with Jeffrey Dahmer, Timothy McVeigh, Saddam, and Hitler, too. All great people if you just ignore their deviant tendencies.
My Jackson Memorial Highlight:
Listening to other people describe it during a conference call.
When I saw a crowd of black people with one white chick singing Heal the World, I thought Michael was back.
I’ve said it before, I’ll say it again: if Kanye West had been accused of all the shit MJ did, and then died, white America would be hosting a special “Dancing with the stars” on top of his grave.
