"I’ll be bummed if this comes out before the movie version of World War Z, the greatest zombie themed work of literature ever."

Pretty spot on. Such a fresh take on an overdone genre. Really well written as well. The scenarios that he gets into in WWZ like "what the fuck happens to astronauts and dudes on a sub during the zombie apocalypse?" make it essential reading for zombie fans.

Walking Dead is a fun read too, although the b+w art makes it a little hard to distinguish between characters sometimes. Anyway, stoked to see what AMC can do with this as a series. Always wanted HBO to do a zombie series. This should be close enough.

I would encourage film makers to take a sharp look at "Dead Eyes Open" by Mathew Shepherd. It's a great story and no changes needed on the script.

WALKING DEAD is not a ripoff of DAWN OF THE DEAD. The prision makes up only a portion of the series and many of th ebest parts happen prior to their arrival there.

@ Enrico

Since Grimey would have to rise from the grave to act in the show, he's probably not the ideal choice to play the one non-zombie on the show.

/aware he's talking about a cartoon character

They should cast Frank "Grimey" Grimes as Rick Grimes.

This was a really good comic book, but kind of a rip off of Dawn of the Dead. Instead of a mall, they hole up in a prison. I can relate, I also got holed up in a prison...
