10.02.09 MOST ADORABLE BEST FRIENDS EVER

I owe you an apology, television watchers. Last week, there was a one-hour special on National Geographic called “Unlikely Animal Friends,” and it completely slipped past my radar. Thankfully, we can re-live the most adorable moments via the power of the Internet. As you can see in the video below, Surya the orangutan and Roscoe the hound were instant best friends the moment they met on an elephant. (There’s a sentence I wasn’t expecting to write today.)

Prepare yourself for four minutes of unchecked adorableness, as Roscoe and Surya hug and go swimming together and feed each other and roll around in the grass. I’m just going to start saving these pictures on my phone so I can have them handy when some jerk breaks out pictures of his new baby. “Oh, you’ve got a baby you think is cute? BAM! Orangutan and hound! THAT is motherf-ckin’ adorable! Your baby’s an ugly lump of flesh, pal. You should probably just leave it in a Dumpster.”
