THAT ‘HUNG’ ACTRESS IS A REAL BITCH
10.07.09If you’re someone who works in the service industry who values your job, you should only tweet or blog about the celebrities you serve under the cloak of anonymity. That’s the lesson for Jon-Barret Ingels, who was a waiter at the LA’s Barney Greengrass until he mixed it up with Jane Adams, the beautiful co-star of HBO’s “Hung.” According to Ingels, Adams claimed she left her wallet in the car, then skipped out on a $13.44 check.
The next day, a representative for Adams came in to pay the actress’ tab — sans tip. Ingels thought it was a funny anecdote to tell to his few-dozen Twitter followers. “Jane Adams, star of HBO series ‘Hung’ skipped out on a $13.44 check. Her agent called and payed the following day. NO TIP!!!” he Twittered. [...]
About a month after the run-in with Adams, the actress returned. She stormed up to the waiter and slapped three dollar bills on the table in front of him, Ingels said. Clearly caught off guard, Ingels replied, “Thank you so much,” he recalled. “You didn’t have to do this.”
“Well, I read about it on Twitter!” Adams retorted, according to Ingels. [...]
A Barney Greengrass representative began following his Twitter account, and he was soon confronted by his manager, he said. The manager reviewed a printout of Ingels’ tweets in front of the defeated waiter, and said he was being fired due to various complaints — one of them from Adams, Ingels said.
Wow, beautiful AND charming! Jane Adams should be commended for defending her good name against month-old tweets that nobody read. It’s good to see that struggling single father taste a little bit of justice. Somebody had to stop that monster.

Yes, all of the “collective” that got mad at the “go to college” remark, but jumped all over the person you don’t know for not tipping, classy. @Leaping Lizards, you have the other half of this amulet?
So you’re saying he was HUNG out to dry?
/pats self on back like Dangerous Danny Davis
(seriously though, fuck that waiter. Get me my pad thai and STFU)
I agree with whatever. I come to this site for hard journalism about the big issues.
P.S. It’s not a new development that people get fired for tweeting about their job. I don’t have sympathy for them anymore.
Wow, your comments section is fighty today. Seriously though, I’ve gone to plenty of college and I’ve been a waiter so that “go to college” crap is stupid. It’s also not a hard job. You have to take people’s shit, but that doesn’t make it what I’d call “hard.” As for this bitch, it’s one thing if you stiff someone because they sucked at their job or if they were a dick to you, it’s another if you stiffed them because YOU fucked up, THEN when they told people about it you act like THE WAITER was the bad guy. Duh, you’re on a TV show, you think people aren’t going to gossip about you if you’re a shitty tipper? Fuck this bitch.
who honestly cares? she made a mistake (everyone does), she should have tipped, didn’t, forgot to, and here we are bitching about stupid shit. life goes on. pretty sure twitter is the dumbest fucking thing ever and its obviously the most worthless shit since (enter whatever talentless celebrity name you wish to bash here) decided to put themselves at the center of the world kanye west style. what ever happened to real news?
Why bother tweeting about such non-stars? Other mentioned “stars” that he’s tweeted about include Ali Larter (who somehow played the role of TWO of the worst characters in Heroes) and two periphery actors in The Office who I don’t care to relook up. So to sum up, couldn’t possibly be worth it.
“Hung” is really bad.
Plus it makes me feel bad, that women dont pay me money for the single purpose of looking at my wenis.
She apparently forgot her wallet, apologized, her agent paid the next day and neglected to tip. The waiter then tweeted that Adams didn’t tip. The waiter was a moron for tweeting this.
@Justice Jones “It’s called college” haha Judge Smails and Mr.Pink would be proud.
@JusticeJones – Didn’t go to college. Still don’t have to take disrespect of any kind from someone who did. Go fuck yourself while you wonder how the hell the society you live in is maintained by the collective and respectable efforts of people you apparently don’t consider human beings.
Not sarcastic. It’s called college, makes complaining about zero tips on twitter obsolete, as you’ll have a real job keeping you busy.
i swear to god, since i haven’t seen the show and only had posters i saw in l.a. to go off of, i thought she was a dude until i read this post. honestly. i thought the characters were two guys.
Wow, how can I follow the tweets of someone as interesting as a waiter to the K-list stars???
@ Justice Jones.
I hope you’re being sarcastic. I’m not sure. If not, I am offended. Good service industry people work hard at a hard job. I don’t work in that industry anymore, but I used to. People who look down upon and/or stiff people who serve them are a very low form of human.
Jeez, I’m serious today. WTF?
This annoying, unfunny broad is one reason why “Hung” will never be better than C-List HBO fare. And you know what? I can’t stand the redhead either, despite her looks. In fact there’s not a single female character on “Hung” who doesn’t annoy the shit out of me. Since this is a show about a guy who fucks chicks for a living, it would be nice to have women on the show you don’t want to kick down a flight of stairs. It’s not like Thomas Jane is a flaming ball of charisma who will carry this show to glory.
Yet because it’s cheap to produce, HBO will renew it. Bullshit. I would rather have 2 episodes or Rome for the same money as two seasons of Hung.
Well, hopefully the single father of blah blah blah will be smarter the next time. Complaining about a customer on twitter? I’m GLAD they curbed his ass. Maybe he’ll learn to be professional at his new gig.
They should dump this ***** and make that fine ass red head his pimp.
Love red heads.
Love head from red heads till my head turns red from head from a red head.
“Hung”, “no tip.”
There’s a circumcision joke in there somewhere but I’m too tired to find it.
Excellent point, Zack. I was also sincere about the part where I said she seemed like a real charming person.
the beautiful co-star of HBO’s “Hung.”
Ufford, I think there’s a typo here, assuming that your keyboard has the key for “beautiful” right next to the one for “eye-gougingly-haggish.” Simple human mistake.
Someone should have showed Ufford a photo of this woman at the end of his Crossfit charity thing – maybe I’d have gotten my $10 worth of vomit that way.
Didn’t this chick play Agnes DePesto on Moonlighting about 20 years ago?
/only half-kidding
I think a “terrible people” tag would work here
