‘THE LEAGUE’ = THE BALLS
10.26.09These spots for FX’s “The League” — about a group of friends balancing real life with their fantasy football teams — have been airing non-stop during “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia” for the last four weeks or so, and it’s been killing me because I’ve been excited for the show since mid-July. But the good news is that it FINALLY debuts this Thursday after “Sunny.”
Of the above clip, a shady-ass lawyer I know wrote, “the bit about reducing the plea offer in exchange for fantasy draft picks [is] surprisingly, and maybe somewhat frighteningly, not really all that fictional.” Below is another promo for the show that I very much identify with, because I’m helplessly addicted to fantasy football. If this show doesn’t kick ass I will drop Tom Brady.*
*I will not drop Tom Brady.

The promos look funny, but it seems like a premise that won’t exactly stretch to 30 minutes without just seeming like a bunch of scenarios you and your buddies are already in, without all the actual human contact.
oh, i get it. so because i like cocaine and dead hooker jokes, that makes me “shady”?
Wow…I didn’t even notice the film crew documenting my life.
By week 6, Jonathan Brandis will make a guest appearance as my team.
Whenever George Lowe does the promos for a show, you know it’ll be a hit.
They better devote an entire episode to the shittiness of Steven Jackson.
hey, if someone out there could get a screen-garb of greenman fighting the “philly frenetic” I would be very thankful.
And the Thursday 10-11 slot on FX will definitely become must see viewing in my household.
