Sons of Anarchy (FX) — I said this last week, but it’s really impressive the way the writers have approached this season. In a show where the Badass Factor could have easily taken over, the characters, pacing, and narrative arc are built with surprisingly careful consideration. Also: Maria Shriver hates how Maggie Siff’s character is a doctor.

Ghost Lab (Discovery) — From Yahoo: “A couple of brothers named Brad and Barry Klinge are about to share spooky examples of supernatural phenomena they’ve found while visiting America’s most haunted places with a traveling ‘Ghost Lab.’” Jesus, ANOTHER reality show about ghosts? Let me break it down for you: ghosts don’t exist. They just don’t. They really, really don’t. No ghosts. Seriously. They’re just something that people made up before science existed, like God and the female orgasm.

Shark Tank (ABC) — Season finale. Whoops, the entire season went by and I never wrote about this show. I don’t know how I live with myself sometimes.

Dancing with the Stars (ABC) — Norah Jones will perform two songs before another couple gets eliminated. And that right there is why this is my parents’ favorite show. (Happy birthday, Dad!)

NCIS: Los Angeles (CBS) — The punky tattooed chick from “NCIS” (Pauley Perrette) guest stars. Why? Because CBS is making a fourth-generation spin-off with LL Cool J and Chris O’Donnell into a hit, that’s why.

MLB Playoffs (Fox) — ALCS Game 4: Yankees at Angels. You can go ahead and expect this one to run late.

Weird, True, & Freaky (Animal Planet) — Back-to-back new episodes feature genetic deformities and grossly obese animals. Expect extra sets of limbs and fat cows. Just like your family reunion!
