LINKS: JANUARY JONES TO HOST ‘SNL’
11.02.09Save the date. January Jones will host the November 14th episode of “Saturday Night Live” with musical guest Black Eyed Peas. I gotta feeling — wooo-hoooo — that that night’s gonna be a good night. Except for the music. (Joseph Gordon-Levitt and the Dave Matthews Band anchor the following week’s show.) [Orlando Sentinel]
The 14 Most Awesome Fake Products from’The Simpsons’ — As much as I rail against lists in lieu of actual expository writing, I have to admit that this is a cool compilation. So much fun to revisit classic gags like malk and Skittlebrau. [Guyism]
As expected… TNT has picked up “Southland.” Starting in January, it will air all seven episodes from Season 1, followed by the six Season 2 episodes that are already in the can. [The Live Feed]
Phew! A while back, the A.V. Club jokingly predicted that the Duggars would take over North America if they kept reproducing at that clip. Thankfully, someone took that way too seriously and debunked it. [boingboing]
‘Sons of Anarchy’ writer is just as badass as his show. Series creator Kurt Sutter got confronted by a TV development executive after he criticized crappy network dramas. Then he owned her ass. Awesome. [SutterInk]
Remember the Madonna-Lady Gaga skit on ‘SNL’? When the Ryan Reynolds/Gaga episode re-aired this weekend, NBC replaced the live version with the take from the show’s dress rehearsal. It’s a slightly different script with better execution. Still not funny, but less unfunny. [bohemea]

You’ll all be Jonesing for more of January this November!
Wow, La Schmoove. My hero boner just went impotent.
No Canyonero? But its smells like a steak and seats thirty-five!
Betty, that Henry guy who apparently wants to marry you without even fucking you, is a goddamn tool.

I was with you on Sutter, until I read his post where he says he actually LIKES Leno and thinks he’s a “talented comedian”. I can’t go for that.
Advantage, Uff.

Sweet- at least two of these links weren’t blocked by my company firewall. My conversation with HR should be much shorter this week.
Also- Maybe I could put up with Southland if it weren’t for the prior existence of The Shield and The Wire, but so far everything on that show was done before with better writing acting and directing. But hey- it beats reality tv, foresnic science based shows and medical dramas cold so I’ll probably keep watching.
I dunno. I mean, Jones is hot and all, but is she funny? It’s not like Betty Draper is a barrel of laughs.
Kurt Sutter is my new hero. Sorry Uff and Santa Claus.
I’m a little disappointed that list didn’t include Homer’s “Everything’s OK Alarm”
