This story may only have a tenuous tie to television, but I think I’m enough of an expert at drinking and looking at women to celebrate this: Absolut vodka is launching a new series of ads with Kate Beckinsale and Zooey Deschanel as its sexy centerpieces.

Kate Beckinsale and Zooey Deschanel will be featured in Absolut ads to be introduced on Thursday at a party in New York… In keeping with an Absolut tradition, the ads are being photographed by a well-known fashion shutterbug, Ellen Von Unwerth.

The ads carry the theme “Every drink is an exceptional experience,” extending a recent campaign for Absolut that carries the theme “Doing things differently leads to something exceptional.”

Well, sure. A fifth of vodka certainly IS an exceptional experience, and it does indeed lead to something exceptional. Assuming that “throwing up in the back of a police cruiser after making out with subway posters of Kate Beckinsale and Zooey Deschanel” qualifies as something exceptional.
