EVERYTHING IS GREEN-SCREENED
12.28.09As a TV viewer, I’m cool with green screen technology. I’m well aware that production teams don’t set up real explosions that the actors must jump away from to avoid the heat and shrapnel, although I’d appreciate it if they did,
especially if that explosion was an unscripted one on the set of “Entourage.” But this excellent video lifts the curtain on just how much green screen is used in television. Like, there’s on scene from “Ugly Betty” where America Ferrera runs face first into a bus stop, only the bus stop is added with green screen technology. COME ON. I understand it’s expensive to do location shoots, but IT’S A BUS STOP. I’m probably the laziest person on the Eastern Seaboard, and even I’m like, “C’mon guys, go ahead and go outside.”
(thanks, Josh)

also, with the Ugly Betty thing, it’s just because they film in L.A. but it’s set in New York.
What else is that song from? Its bothering the shit out of me.
oh, fucking hell man! hero never actually teleported into time square? that’s it! i’m never watching tv again. the fucking liars.
Jay Cutler is totally excited for Doxology
Weird, I just watched this the other day when my sister came home for Christmas. This is the demo reel for Stargate Studios, based in Pasadena. My sister and a couple other friends work there. It’s a pretty small operation run mostly by younger people, but they do good work. They won a Visual Effects Emmy this year for their work on Heroes. The owner is a pretty nice guy too, with a great house up in the hills around Pasadena. There’s a demo reel of their slow-motion work with a WeissCam floating around that’s pretty mindblowing too.
Fine, but stop acting like you can’t wait for “leap Year” to come out.
It’s an ad, Nitty Gritty. Unless you’re willing to pay more than they are, it stays up until the deal is over.
NOTE: I don’t have anything to do with any of the ads on the site.
That Doxology is not funny, cool, or interesting. It is hipster bullshit and I’m so sick of fucking seeing it every goddamn day, please stop posting it, so freaking annoying.
As someone who has regular appearances inside 60 Centre Street, I for one am thrilled to death that the Law and Order douches are minimizing their disruption of the front entrance.
So do they green-screen all of the douche on Adrian Grenier or just most of it?
Brad Ferro actually punched Snooki in front of a green screen. It took 37 takes.
