As much as I like Kristen Wiig, the one character that she plays on “Saturday Night Live” that I absolutely can’t stand is Gilly (video below). Every Gilly skit is six minutes of a painfully unfunny joke repeated ad nauseam. Oh hey, guess what? According to the newest issue of Retarded Ideas Weekly, Wiig will host the “SNL” Christmas special… as Gilly.
“SNL Presents: A Very Gilly Christmas” will air Dec. 17 at 8 p.m. The two-hour special, the first for “SNL” since 2002, will be led by Wiig’s Gilly, an ever-smiling Annie-lookalike who delights in violent mischief. The special will feature new sketches with Gilly and highlights of classic holiday “SNL” sketches…
In a phone interview Monday, [Wiig] said part of the fun of Gilly hosting is in her slim vocabulary, which consists mainly of the simple catch-phrase “Sorry.” “That can be a tough one to work around,” Wiig said. “There’s going to be no long monologue. Maybe her five-word vocabulary will stretch to 10 or 11.” [AP]
NBC deserves everything bad that happens to it. With this and the Jay Leno debacle, it’s really transformed into the Terrible Idea Factory. “Here, try our Crystal Pepsi sausage.”

I dressed as Gilly for Halloween. Why? It was so easy. Everyone kept trying to get me to say, “What?” and “Sorry.” My date was one of my victims. Good times. But, truthfully, it’s a mediocre sketch. I find it funny because I’m a teacher, and it reminds me of old-fashioned cartoons.
I hate the skit for the longest time, now I find myself quoting it. NO idea why, and I dislike myself for doing it.
The funniest show so far was the Taylor Swift host. Great skits,and digital short. Why can’t SNL get off the Gilly crap honestly. The character seems to seep into all of Wiig’s character’s even if she’s not trying to do “it”.It is so crappy. They should get more talented hosts like the Swift girl.
I love the Gilly sketches, we quote it all the time. SNL RULES.
I am a loyal SNL watcher, no matter how incredibly painful it may be to watch, but they went too damn far now. They cut classic Xmas SNL skits for this sorry excuse for comedy. Rot in hell Lorne Michaels. Seriously.
I totally agree! Every skit Kristen Wiig is in has a great chance of being funny except for gilly. Somebody has to like Gilly or the wouldn’t keep bringing it back.
Best Wig skit was the office girl with john malkovich…where everyone in the office finds her hot.
HA HA This is so funny! :D It’s just like this one time I was at a bar and this guy ordered some shots so I figured what the hell and just swooped in and took them. And when the guy got all up in my face about it I kicked him square in the balls so hard he was rolling on the floor gasping and screaming! Isn’t that hilarious?! :D
OK that shit was excrutiating to watch but Kenan was actually with the Caruso line. The 2 HR Christmas special will just have to be ignored in the j4b home.

These skits are so stupid. I can’t stand gilly. Everyone knows the only funny thing on snl anymore is Andy Samberg, especially his Digital Shorts. Sometimes Weekend Update is pretty funny to me. I only watch when I’m bored and feel like going to sleep, because that’s basically what this show does to me now unless I see a skit with Samberg in it. If you haven’t seen Shy Ronnie yet with Rihanna, should definitely look that up. Great stuff.
The gag gets old after 2 minutes. 2 hours of it sounds excruciating.
Keenan was pretty funny here, the whole Gilly name call like 8 times in a row was irritating.

The funny part about Gillie isn’t Gillie, it’s everybody else in the sketch. Curious what they come up with though. SNL is hit or miss with people sometimes, they have unfunny sketches, but I can’t jump on the SNL hater bandwagon . . I still love the show.
SNL on the whole is pretty terrible, but the Kickspit Underground music festival commercial was pretty hilarious.
In all fairness, is it even possible to judge a character of a sketch that involves Kenan Thompson and Bobby Moynahan?
We could have seen Penelope. She’s funny, even if she is a one-trick pony. Or even the Target cashier. That shit is a riot. But NBC has proven that they’re on the downswing again (like they were after Seinfeld and Friends, before the Office and 30 Rock). Guhh.
The only funny thing Kristen Wiig ever did was Dr. Pat on the Joe Schmo Show. Otherwise, she’s terrible.
As the leader of the crusade for people who think Wiig is worse than Mencia, I feel quite vindicated right now.
