Via Screen Junkies, here’s the first teaser for HBO’s “Treme,” David Simon’s examination of post-Katrina New Orleans treme-tubathrough they eyes of the city’s vibrant music scene — and with apologies to Chuck Palahniuk: this is Matt’s raging boner for jazz and urban decay. The video is nothing but shots of abandoned musical instruments throughout the city set to music, and just when the foot-stompin’ is about to begin, that’s when it cuts out and leaves me wanting to watch every episode starting IMMEDIATELY. It’s TV’s version of blue balls. Oh, David Simon, you dirty tease! Now if I want to get off to urban decay, I’ll have to go check out the frozen hobos of Detroit.
