KEN BURNS DOC ON THE LATE NIGHT WAR
01.22.10As NBC’s late night war comes to a close and we await Conan O’Brien’s final “Tonight Show” this evening, it’s a good time to look back on the nation’s bloodiest television war since 1993. Jimmy Kimmel provides the essential recap of the events with this terrific faux-Ken Burns/PBS documentary (video below). It is an absolute triumph of Photoshop, voiceover, white men with beards, and lonesome harmonica music.
Oh man. I just realized that “Photoshop, voiceover, white men with beards, and lonesome harmonica music” comes way too close to summarizing my life. I gotta go out more. Or at least order another Russian bride. The last one, uh… left. Yeah, she left me. I don’t know where she went. Definitely not that Dumpster, I can tell you that much.

That was exceptionally awesome.
@Pallazzo
Hey-O! I guess ‘horsefucked’ may be over the top for a guy getting a $30+ Million severance package.
Horse-fucking Conan? So that is why Mine That Bird was on the show last night.
Colonel Masturbating Bear valiantly took matters into his own hands during the second Battle of Ball’s Bluff.
Fuckin’ Richard Dunn. Dude never invited me on his Gettin’ It Dunn show. Burns should’ve been interviewing me, or David Liebe Hart at the very least.
I need more wine and sandwiches.
Solid stuff- Kimmel and Letterman are having a field day with this. Been watching Late Shift- http://www.lasnark.com/2010/01/21/watch-the-late-shift-online/4857
Amazing how they playoff Leno as a naive outsider manipulated by his C-word manager. This time around? No way he’s not a major force in horse fucking Conan.
“I don’t know where she went. Definitely not that Dumpster, I can tell you that much.”
Looks like someone is already in the lead for the next season of Megan Wants a Millionaire.
I’m glad to see that Richard Dunn is branching out in his roles and playing something other than a senile old man.
Outstanding.
Now I want a donut.
