If you watch “Archer,” then not only do you have impeccable taste in comedy, but you’ve also likely seen this promo for “Louie,” starring Louis C.K., whose last name, much like a pubescent girl, may or may not have periods. Here’s what Variety said about the show last August:
“Louie” is based on the star’s life and will blend standup material with what [FX president John] Landgraf described as “extended vignettes” depicting moments from his offstage experiences. Louis CK is exec producer, writer and helmer of the series.
The promo doesn’t quite get me excited the way the promos for other FX comedies like “Always Sunny,” “Archer,” and even “The League” did in the past, but I’m still putting the premiere (April 1st) on my calendar. It’s Louis C.K., man. You don’t wanna miss a new Louis C.K. show. It’s like a period in that regard. (And yes: that’s two period jokes in one blog post. I think I just exceeded my quota; I ordinarily don’t tell them more than once a month.)

if u dont like louis, then u dont now comedy, hes a legend. writer, simpsons, letterman, chris rock, pootie tang( underground classic), and countless others including all his standup shows
@Hammer
Thanks for posting that- almost peed myself laughing. I’m on board to at least give it a shot in March.
i heard him on ‘Unmasked’ on Sirius. Cool back story. Hard-working guy, if you believe what he says.
helmer? i barely know her
The Internet promo he did for the show is better (but unairable on FX, for obvious reasons): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5jPZpptlABM
Archer is the least funny piece of shit I’ve ever seen in my life. Does that mean my taste in comedy is peccable?
I hope it has as much cock as Lucky Louie did.
Louie CK is awesome but Lucky Louie sucked a bag of dicks.
The only good thing about it was my introduction to Emma Stone.
I’ve seen bits of his standup, the awful HBO show, his part in the invention of lying, and his episodes of Parks & Recreation. I just don’t see it- which is weird because every comedian I respect goes out of their way to say he’s the best working comic in the US- and I generally share a sense of humor with people who find him funny. Maybe I need to see more of his standup?
He had Lucky Louie on HBO, with the chick who does the voice of Bobby Hill, and it was fail. Had an awful laugh track. I thought it was edgy just for the sake of being edgy, but perhaps a toned down version of that formula, sans studio audience, will yield better results on FX.
It can’t be any worse than what Lucky Louie was. Yes, he is funny but that show was horse-menstration.
