Writing about “Lost” every day has made me long for the days of writing about Conan O’Brien every day, so let’s relive some glory days with an update on the speculation about Coco’s possible move to Fox:
In a quarterly earnings call on Tuesday, Murdoch said the network was exploring different options for the time period. “If the programming people can show us we can do it … and make a profit, we would do it in a flash,” he admitted. In the meantime, he said he was “sure there have been some conversations” with O’Brien, but “no real negotiations.”
When pressed about resistance to the possible move, he explained that Fox affiliates are currently running profitable syndicated programs during the otherwise appealing 11 p.m. time period. [Forbes]
So, to summarize: a billionaire tycoon is a savvy businessman, and there’s nothing new to report. This story was a real A1 attention-grabber, huh? It’s a good thing Business Cat was around to spice things up. I heard he took Rupert and Conan out for an evening of sushi served on a naked girl, drunken karaoke, and his personal stash of Hello Kitty panties.

@TJ: I agree. Without the weight of the “Tonight” franchise, Conan can get back to all the edgy stuff he did on Late Night. I think Conan on Fox would change the late-night landscape.
On another topic: Why the hell is Matt photoshopping business cat into pictures? I think Alison Brie would have made this story EXTREMELY interesting.
@David: I think Conan might be able to pull some viewers from a 70 year old man if he puts on the show that he can be proud of, not the watered down show he had at 11:35 on NBC.
Honestly, the two best hosts on TV right now are Fallon and Ferguson.

And Conan on Fox would be awesome. He could be is old goofy self. This whole mess could be a blessing, because I missed the hell out of the old goofy Conan.
How did a mass murderer like Business Cat avoid jail and end up working with Murdoch and FOX?

Business Cat was fired from Disney for repeatedly leaving dead Mouseketeers at the CEO’s door.
As much as I love Conan, it’s becoming more and more obvious that having him host an 11:30 show is not a good business decision. I wish it could work out for him because he desperately wants it to, but the audience just ain’t there for him. It’s Letterman’s world before 12:30.
