WHAT’S ON 2NITE: DEMETRI & SILVERMAN
02.04.10Important Things with Demetri Martin (Comedy Central) — Season 2 premiere. I found the first season a little uneven but ultimately enjoyable for the scenes that worked. I’ll be watching — right after I get done with “Archer.”
The Sarah Silverman Program (Comedy Central) — Season 3 premiere. I like the idea of pairing these show together, but I’m really sick of all these networks putting their funniest shows on Thursdays. You know, I’m willing to laugh on other nights of the week.
Grey’s Anatomy (ABC) — Between “Better Off Ted,” “Modern Family,” and this weird habit I’ve gotten into of occasionally watching “Castle,” I’ve seen a whole lot of promos for “Grey’s” recently. And every single one of them makes me want to punch the TV.
Parks and Recreation (NBC) — If you haven’t read the A.V. Club’s interview with Aziz Ansari yet, you should check it out.
The Office (NBC) — Kathy Bates guest stars. And this is supposed to make me want to watch how? When did this show become the worst part of NBC’s Thursday lineup? Right, this year. But I meant that as a rhetorical question.
Bones (Fox) — Winter finale. In case you don’t speak the language of TV executives, “winter finale” is corporate speak for “the show’s going on break while NBC has the Olympics, and we need to find a way to make this unnecessary break in the season sound important.”

Damn, Sarah Silverman looks damn good in that picture. I mean even though I know she doesn’t give blowjobs, I’m still in.
I havent’ seen a Jew that hot since…
(don’t do it Mike, don’t do it)
UU, I’m still laughing at Archer’s “Got Dick?” t-shirt.
I don’t know how to feel about 30 Rock. The cat joke from last night was great, but the rest of the episode was uneven. And the the fug happened to Jan Hooks?
When I saw Kathy Bates was going to be on the The Office, I expected the worst, and I expected correctly. Worst episode ever. In other news, Archer was once again kick ass.
ryan… there is a difference between having a love story on the show (which has gotten incredibly sappy), and people throwing cats through ceilings… when angela threw her cat through the ceiling… well that was just cringeworthy
Or should I say, “Boom Roasted”
I’m sorry, there was a time when The Office wasn’t part Soap Opera? Jim/Pam was the biggest soap opera on network TV this side of Grey’s Anatomy and that has become less Soap Operaish in the past 2 seasons. Sooooo you’re beat.
Gotta agree with Donturtuccio…”The Office” has sucked since Season 4, when it became clear the show was more of a soap opera than a comedy. I also thought “30 Rock” lost its touch after season 2.
I just hope “Community” doesn’t take a downturn like those other 2 NBC shows…
and fyi office went from best show on tv to worst show on nbc’s thursday night lineup midway thru last season
nuggest = nuggets = pavlovs pothead
i assume college jeopardy is still in order if they’re throwing nuggest of goodness like keyboard cat around, btw how does no one have the animated .gif of trebeck doing a razzberry as a answer/question on a show this week
LOST is off to a great start (and the Office has always been great as well)
@ryan…
sorry bud, but the office is shit now… hate to be one of those guys, but its been bad since season 4…
How can you say The Office is the low-light of the Thursday night block? I really like Community and Parks and Rec has turned from an average show to one of the best on TV, but The Office is hitting some of its highest notes this year (save for the highlight episode which was stupid). Not to mention 30 Rock has turned into a live-action Family Guy with slightly better writing. That show went from the best on tv to slowly falling into “Who Gives A Shit?” territory.
Castle is a good show, but Beckett is a weak point I think. She’s growing on me though, the hotness perhaps. Its all about Fillion.
KEYBOARD CAT gets a mention on Jeopardy!!! By far the highlight of my day.
I started watching Castle because Beckett is extremely attractive…now I actually watch it for its charmingness. Charminicity?
Last weeks Parks and Recreation rerun was the funniest episode of that show so far. If anyone wants to get someone into the show, that’s a damn good one to start with. “You can’t say your favorite type of cake is ‘birthday’. That’s like saying your favorite kind of cereal is ‘breakfast’” “Ooohh, I love breakfast cereal.”
Don’t forget about Psych, which features both Sarah Shahi and Stacy Keibler as guest stars. Oh, wait, that was last night.
As far as Silverman goes, after seeing her opening scene in “The Way of the Gun” I stopped watching her because figured the only thing she could do to make me laugh harder was get punched a little harder. In real life. By me.
I’m your biggest fan!
(that’s what she said)
Yeah, I get it Sarah. You say outrageously disgusting things and it is so shocking! and outrageous! coming from a cute girl. Unfortunately half your shit is unfunny. At least half.
Your other half is hairy.
I treat Castle I like a treat baseball in the summer- I’ll have it on, but I need to be doing something else while I’m watching.
I’m with you on Castle. Nothing TRULY compelling there, but overall It’s a fun show that I end up watching on Hulu every week.
