‘BOARDWALK EMPIRE’ LOOKS F’N AWESOME
03.16.10If you didn’t watch the first episode of “The Pacific” on Sunday night, I’ll spare you the lecture and merely inform you that you also missed the debut of the new trailer for “Boardwalk Empire” (video below), the Prohibition-era drama produced by Martin Scorsese. The series stars Steve Buscemi as Atlantic City gangster Nucky Thompson, and features Michael K. Williams (pictured, better known as Omar from “The Wire”) and puffy-lipped candyboy Michael Pitt (The Dreamers). It also features zoot suits, Tommy guns, sawed-off shotguns, sledgehammers, Klansmen, swearing, blood, sex, and women in cakes. Honestly, the trailer looks like Miller’s Crossing re-cut with Scorsese’s taste for modern music. And I can’t possibly think of higher praise than that.
[via The Live Feed, which retardedly called this a "sneak peak." It's a brief look, not a mountain. C'mon, pretend you write for an actual news outlet, buddy.]

I’ve got a forum up @ theboardwalkempire.com for discussion… /endspam ;)
Wow, this looks too good to be true. Based on talent alone i knew this show was gonne be good, that trailer ramps up my excitment tenfold
I still can’t get over the fact that HBO canceled “John From Cincinnati”. But, yes, this looks decent.
Oh man I have a RAGING clue right now!
@La Schmoove: yes, yes, a thousand times yes.
Brian Jonestown Massacre is the fucking truth. Using it for this trailer turned my blue veiner into a a diamond cutter.
Ah, they were the band who hadn’t quite made it in “DiG!”. Thanks Kyle.
“Straight Up and Down” by The Brian Jonestown Massacre (iPhone told me)
Does anyone know the track being used in the trailer? I’m thinking Rolling Stones but i don’t know it.
I’ve always wanted to hear Steve Buscemi mutter the phrase, “Omar comin’ yo”.
I feel like a butthorn for having seen this the first time and only thinking “Gretchen Mole got work?” it’s really fawking good.
I only just got HBO last week. I’m sort of loving Bored to Death too.
It feels like Miller’s Crossing the series…boss.
Am I a heathen for not loving Miller’s Crossing? I like Barton Fink more, I think, and Blood Simple less, but MC felt disjointed to me, and the dialogue fails where the Coens are usually very adept.
jmho
Wait, so I should actually watch this trailer?
So this, treme, the pacific, funny or die and life of tim… sweet, looks like Comcast is going to win our mexican standoff over me having HBO. Damn it.
Considering filming Boardwalk Empire disrupted way more traffic in my neighborhood than A Muppets Christmas, I fully expect this to be awesome. You know, correlation equaling causation and all.
@UU – Based on trailers alone, I would have to agree. For now.
Jesus H. Christ on a fucking cracker that’s the best fucking trailer EVER!
Call me crazy, but I’m looking forward to this more than Treme.

Even if I didn’t think this looks awesome (I do) I would still have to love it because Omar is in the trailer and I am required to love any and all things with even faint connections to The Wire.
This trailer looks so awesome that I want it to put IT’S penis inside ME!
Oh indeed…
This trailer looks so awesome that I want to put my penis inside it.
