NEWS STORY OF THE YEAR
03.03.10This is Hoppa, a two-legged dog in Israel who was born without front legs. I saw this Reuters photo today, and I bent my head in prayer. “Please, Lord,” I said, “Let there be a TV news story about this.” And the Lord said, “Okay, it’s on Urlesque. Now stop asking for Scarlett Johansson, because that ain’t happenin’.” God really knows His way around the Internet!
Video of Hoppa — plus his Internet predecessor Faith, who walks on her hind legs — below.

Your knowledge of accents is way off if you didn’t pick up on the reporter calling the dog “spishl”. Australians pronounce their vowels. The report was from a little island to the right of us.
I’m also extra-glad this was an Australian news report, because everytime I read “Hoppa” in the article, I heard it in an Australian accent in my head. G’day!
LIL BRUDDER!! :sob: That little guy! :sob He’s got the heart of a champion! :sob:

I always read “Urlesque” as “Urkel-esque”. It’s a lot better that way.
I used to live in a neighborhood with a dog that had no hind legs. The family tied roller skates to his backside. Problem solved. No begging of prosthetic engineers to design a special device and no news reports. Just plain old common sense. Skates roll. Dog has no legs. Tie that shit to the dog.
I didn’t cry when my own father was hanged for stealin’ a pig. But I’ll cry for this.
Hoppa…roll over.
that fourth tag better be employed the next time you blog about Fran Drescher.
What’s that? No, those aren’t tears. That’s just my eye secreting awesome drops.
