ZACH GALIFIANAKIS SHAVED HIS BEARD
03.08.10For those of you who watched the Zach Galifianakis “Saturday Night Live” episode in its entirety, you likely noticed that
Zach appeared in the final sketch with only a mustache, then reappeared to close the show with a beard again. If you didn’t notice, then congratulations, because you must have been awesomely drunk.
Anyway, NBC/Hulu has a video (sorry, international readers) of how Zach shaved his beard during Vampire Weekend’s second performance, then got his fake beard applied with spirit gum during the final commercial break. It was a fun little trick to play, even if the beard didn’t look quite right. It was kinda like Katie Holmes without makeup that way.
Below: video of the beard-shaving, plus the funny final sketch (via Videogum).

(sorry, international readers) – and that’s why everyone thinks you’re a cunt.
Oh, what am I saying? I’m the REAL cunt.
the bidet bit was good too.
If only they used the time figuring out how to pull off the beard change to write a single funny sketch.
The beard gag was good, but I’m not sure it warranted putting the funniest sketch on last. Zach salvaged What’s Up With That, but even he couldn’t do anything about the Kissing Family. I can’t believe they still trot that gag out.
If Governor Paterson ran on a platform promising a ban on recurring characters on SNL, he’d win in a landslide.
Leave it to SNL to put the funniest skit on last.
His beard holds his funny.
I didn’t notice either, but I remember thinking something was off. I wonder if that is why they were losing it during that final sketch? Makes more sense.
i didn’t even notice it was gone. WTF should i see a doctor?
His monologue was very good, even though the “my stylist asked me what look I wanted” is from his stand up. Other than that SNL is unwatchable. I feel embarassed for everyone in every sketch. Also, I recommend Galifiankis with Tim & Eric in a trio of Absolut promos. Funny fucking shit.
ECHO! echo echo echo…
Seth Meyers has vowed to never lose his beard.
