‘Lost’ Finale Extended 30 Minutes
05.05.10The long-awaited “Lost” finale, scheduled to air on Sunday, May 23rd, has been extended an additional 30 minutes. This should make Losties happy, assuming they aren’t getting mad at you because they consider the length of the show to be a spoiler.
The producers of ABC’s hit drama have shot so much crucial material for the show’s hugely anticipated series finale that the network has agreed to extend the last episode by an extra half hour…
Yes, I’m sure it’s all crucial material, and it has nothing to do with selling additional ad space.
The supersizing of the finale is the latest adjustment to what might as well be called “The ‘Lost’ Weekend.” ABC is airing an “enhanced” (pop-ups) version of the show’s original two-hour pilot on May 22. On Sunday there’s a two-hour retrospective titled “Lost: The Final Journey,” followed by the finale, then the local news (which was preempted in the first-blush recounting of this plan) and Kimmel post-show. So, that Sunday has four and a half hours of “Lost,” then the news, then Kimmel’s “Aloha to Lost” special. Hmmm… I dunno, I could use some more “Lost.” Will the local news also be about “Lost”? Maybe the anchors can dress as characters on the show. Anything that might help get some attention for this under-the-radar series.

I’m praying the final ending involves Jim Belushi.
There is no way that dude doesn’t eat Sombrero Cat. Get him the hell out of there and while you are at it bring me those boobies on the far right. Mmmm, Lost Cinco Boobies.
I can see why they need that extra 30 mins. The entire series has been devoid of any story or appeal for the last 5 years they need this extra slot to make me give a shit.
How long has this show been on an island in the middle of nowhere? How is that dude still fat?
I suspect the last 30 minutes will just be an apology from the writers.
“All those unanswered questions…sorry about that”
“How is someone trapped on an island for years just as fat as he was on day 1…sorry about that”
“Why did we think we would be clever by introducing a time-shifted, parallel universe…sorry about that”
“For the people who wasted a portion of their life on details that have no relevance to the outcome of the show, nevermind the actual world in which we actually live…sorry about that”
They needed the extra 30 minutes to kill off more slopes…like they did last night. Boom.
I liked the part of this article that was about Lost.
“But how is the island sinking if there isn’t any water?”
