Three of “Jersey Shore’s” male stars — Vinny, Ronnie, and The Situation — posed shirtless for the cover of The Village Voice, apparently unaware that it was for the newspaper’s “queer issue.” Although let’s be honest: EVERY issue of The Village Voice is pretty queer. The New York Post says:

The guys of MTV’s “Jersey Shore” were more than pumped when the Village Voice asked them to pose in all their muscled glory for the cover, but it didn’t tell them it was for the annual “Queer Issue.” Camera-friendly Vinny Gaudagnino, Ronnie Ortiz-Magro and Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino agreeably doffed their shirts and flexed their abs — but spies said the lady-killing trio will be shocked to see how the shot’s being used. “They didn’t know,” said a source.

MovieLine added this incisive commentary:

They’re clubgoers who care about the height of their hair. They’re precise about appearances and lose control when house music comes on. They’re devoted to fun, not women — and for that reason alone, these three dudes should own Jersey Shore’s gay undertones… Jersey Shore is just The Real World with better partying, meaning they certainly have a viewer demo that would appreciate some gay props.

Translation: the “Jersey Shore” guys act pretty gay. I mean, definitely not Nathan Lane gay, and not even Kevin Spacey gay. But Tom Cruise gay for sure.
