Embedded below is five minutes of new material from Louis C.K. that he performed on “Lopez Tonight” last week to promote his new series “Louie,” which debuts on FX tonight. (Sorry to put it after the jump, but I hate TBS’s video player.)

What I like about this clip is that Louis C.K. is generally considered one of the best stand-up comedians alive, and at least half of his act is about penises and feces. Comedy is an art form, and one of the world’s greatest artists works in the realm of dicks and poop. I love that. And believe me, these are some terrific dick and poop jokes. When I compare my two-bit dick jokes to these, I feel like an art school dropout looking at a Van Gogh, wondering how we can use the same tools to such different effect.
