Four days until the season premiere of “Sons of Anarchy,” bitches. In this Mediaweek video, the actors talk about their characters and what’s to come in Season 3. I don’t have many details, but I’d guess ownage. Lots of ownage to come.
In case you’re new to this blog or watching TV, the second season of “SOA” is one of the best seasons of television I’ve ever watched. Sure, it’s easy to simplify it as “Henry Rollins’s Nazi gang rape leads to battle between white separatists and gun-running, porn-producing motorcycle gang,” but the plotting, the pacing, and the character flaws that locked the protagonists into bad decisions — it was gripping TV and essential viewing. A lot of people talk about “Mad Men” as one of the best-written shows on TV, but I’ll take Kurt Sutter in a knife fight versus Matthew Weiner.
Sam Crow versus the IRA starts Tuesday night. Get on board or die alone.

@Sarpedon – Um…not really. The two are very different shows. Breaking Bad is one long storyline and rarely deviates from it, while SOA is not afraid to change things up.
I love BB, it is a masterpiece. However, if I had to choose one of the two, it would be SOA. It is more enjoyable to watch again and again, while BB can be pretty gloomy and dark.
Technically, BB is superior, but SOA is my favourite show.
Simple question here. Is Sons of Anarchy a better show than Breaking Bad?
God yes. I’ve been waiting for this since the exact moment season 2 ended. *bounces in chair, chair breaks, curses, throws chair at wall, stands in front of computer, continues bouncing*
@Taco Jones,
That’s because it is obviously not as well written as Entourage.
Jon Bois doesn’t like this show.
@Late to the Party – Hunnam was researching his role for the show and Sutter gave him a few biker contact names. They loved him and made him a member. Now Kurt Sutter is worried because Hunnam is actually making noises about leaving the show to take it up full time.
That’s what I heard from a friend in LA.
Wehavehair, Smegga is right. You could pick up the first two seasons at Best Buy and have them banged out by Tuesday night’s premiere.
I’m hoping for the same leap in quality we got from season one to two (Kurt Sutter said he realized that he needed to make Jax more proactive than Hamelt, because a passive main character wasn’t as interesting).
I think biker gangs and harley riders are super-lame, and I’m fully onboard with the South Park effort to reappropriate the word Fag to mean guys who ride Harleys.
Yet despite that I couldn’t agree more about season 2 being one of the best seasons of television I’ve ever seen. And anyone who didn’t get at least a little misty during the last 5 minutes of episode ten is probably dead inside.
This trailer makes me want to smoke cigarettes, drink whiskey, fuck porn stars, and kick nazis in the cock.
I mean, more than usual.
A few months ago I saw Charlie Hunnam (Jackson Teller) in LA. Was he riding a Harley? You better fucking believe he was riding a Harley. Then I killed myself, knowing my life had peaked.
@wehavehair – Watch it now. It’s 13 episodes each season and they fly by. Take a few days off work, sit down and immerse yourself in SAMCRO and then watch the new season with the rest of us.
DG, get Jonathan!
on glee, kurt doesn’t fight the weiner
It tends to fall into the TV trap of entire story arcs being potentially nullified by a simple expository conversation, but it’s one of the few shows where those conversations are unlikely due to the main characters’ personalities/egos etc.
So obvious? Maybe. But porn stars and outlaw motorcycle gangs. I rest my case.
F any of you that aren’t onboard. SOA is simply incredible.
I finally watched the first two seasons, and I found it gripping but not particularly high quality. A fair amount of melodrama, overacting, obvious behavior, etc.
Who gives a shit. There, I finally said it.
I mean, it’s Hamlet told by way of a motorcycle gang. That’s pretty great.
Is this worth jumping in on now, or would I be better off watching 1&2 on dvd first? I finally
stopped being a loserturned on the cable this summer.GOOD MORNING. “SONS OF ANARCHY” TIME.
When I’m a billionaire, a pair of sexy personal assistants will wake me up every morning by saying that in unison and loading up an episode on my DVD player.
