ABC has given a script deal with penalty to Dealbreaker, the relationship blog that was recently published as a book. “American Dad” executive producer Nahnatchka Khan (KHAAAAAAAN!) will co-write the show with “American Dad” staffer Laura McCreary.

The blog and the book are described as a “hilarious reference guide to the qualities that, when discovered, transform the ‘date you hope to go home with’ into the ‘date you pray never calls again’” and as a catalogue of characteristics that serve as early warning signs of possible relationship discontent. Translation: it’s people bitching about their boyfriend/girlfriend/love interest. The original authors of the blog, comics Dave Horwitz and Marisa Pinson, stopped creating their own content on the site some time ago, and now just publish submissions from other writers. Mmmm, that’s some good cashin’ in. I have to stop working so hard on silly Photoshops and start coming up with niche blogs that translate to television. My taste in whiskey is expensive.

Anyway, despite the banner image, this is in no way related to “Dealbreakers” on “30 Rock.” Which is too bad, because Lesbian Yellow Sour Fruit is one of my favorite authors.
