Boosh! Dick Ebersol Out at NBC!
05.19.11Crack the champagne, people: longtime NBC Sports head honcho Dick Ebersol has been ousted after he and Comcast “couldn’t come to terms on a new contract.” (*cough* FIRED! *cough cough*) Deadline sums up his accomplishments:
Remember when Ebersol leaped to Jeff Zucker’s defense and publicly slammed Conan O’Brien to New York Times TV writer Bill Carter just because the late-night host wouldn’t agree to get Zucked as host of The Tonight Show? And let’s not forget that Ebersol ensured that NBC wouldn’t make a dime on the last Olympics because he overbid by $200 million to televise the games? Or the years when NBC had virtually no major sports to broadcast?
Mark Lazarus, presently the president of NBC Sports Cable Group, will take over as Chairman of NBC Sports Group. However, this doesn’t necessarily mark the end of Ebersol’s TV career. I expect him to return home to the muddy waters of the Ozarks, where we may see him on a future episode of “Hillbilly Handfishin’.”

BOOSH! More like, DOOSH!
He should have been fired for putting Olberman, Rodney Harrison and Peter King on Sunday night football.
Rodney keeps it real, dawg.

Hahahahahahahahahahahahahaha, go fuck yourself, Notre Dame.
You know, in a few years.
Ooooh, just 15 years late for Norm Macdonald.
Holy crap, NBC really is on the road to recovery. And the end of days is coming. Coincidence? Maybe.
Does anyone else think that Ebersol is a dead ringer for Vigo the Carpathian?
Aeyo, I forgot that he was the one who got Norm fired. Dick indeed.
That’s a damn good looking catfish. Who is the ugly fucker next to him?
=1 dRail
Wasn’t he also Vigo the Butch?
+1 dRail
Sorry.
HE IS VIGO!! YOU ARE LIKE THE BUZZING OF FLIES TO HIM!!!
I totally second the Viggo reference. Before I read the headline, I thought this was Ghostbusters 3 news.
Wow, a tv blogger that doesn’t understand the tv business. Shocking. Ebersol and NBC sports is the only good thing NBC has going for it (don’t say Community, because you know they’re itching to cancel that). Good luck Comcast. The NFL and Olympics are your only money-makers and those’ll be gone soon enough.
