This Season 4 promo for “Parks and Recreation” was posted on Tumblr a few days ago, but the video wasn’t embeddable so I couldn’t share it. Now we’ve finally got a video player that can be passed around like a joint or your mom, and it makes for a great way to start your Friday. Or any day, really.

I find college graduations dull and unremarkable, but that’s probably because I was way more proud of my Marine Corps commission than I was my college degree. It also probably has something to do with Poet Laureate Robert Pinsky giving my commencement speech. BORRRRRRRRINGGGGGGG.

Of course, Harvard doesn’t have that problem, because it’s Harvard and the children of privilege that go there get an awesome speaker every year. This year, “Parks and Recreation” star Amy Poehler addressed the graduates (full video below), and she gave the sort of heartwarming yet funny speech that no one in the field government (or poetry) seems to be capable of. Some highlights:

“Try putting your iPhones down every once in a while and look at people’s faces. People’s faces will tell you amazing things, like if they are angry, or nauseous, or asleep.”

On Mark Zuckerberg and the Winklevoss twins: “What do I know about Harvard?…I know it’s filled with people who get rich by inventing things, and people who get rich suing the people who invented things.”

“Would it kill you to be nicer to your parents? They have sacrificed so much for you and all they want is for you to smile and take a picture with your weird cousins. Do that for them. And with less eye-rolling, please.”

“As you navigate through the rest of your life, be open to collaboration. Other people and other people’s ideas are often better than your own. Find a group of people who challenge and inspire you, spend a lot of time with them, and it will change your life. No one is here today because they did it on their own…You’re all here today because someone gave you strength. Helped you. Held you in the palm of their hand. God, Allah, Buddha, Gaga—whomever you pray to.”

“When you feel scared, hold someone’s hand, look into their eyes. When you feel brave, do the same thing. You are here because you’re smart and brave, and if you add to that kindness and the ability to change a tire, you almost make up the perfect person.”

Pretty great, right? And now, here are some cats that look like Amy Poehler:

Tina Fey and Amy Poehler guest starred in this “Jersey Floor” sketch that aired on last night’s episode of “Late Night with Jimmy Fallon.” I probably would really like this if (a) I didn’t hate NBC’s video player, (b) I didn’t have to sit through a commercial to get to the skit, and (c) it didn’t go on for an interminable NINE MINUTES. Don’t get me wrong, Fallon’s DJ Pauly D impression is downright uncanny, but it’s not worth sitting through five minutes of just to get to the part where Fey and Poehler finally show up.

However, it IS worth watching after Fey and Poehler appear, just for the inexplicable wonder of how good Tina Fey looks. She’s 40, pregnant, and done up in a wig, fake tan, and excessive eye makeup — yet she’s never looked hotter to me. The lesson here, ladies, is that men will like you more if you dress slutty. Even if you’re pregnant. Especially if you’re pregnant.

Funny or Die, as the Internet’s YouTube service for famous people, has a lot more “Die” than “Funny.” But this promo skit for “Parks and Recreation” — in which a foul-mouthed Rob Lowe goes off on the rest of the cast when he learns he hasn’t been on television in five months — is absolutely terrific. You know, I dole out a lot of praise for what a terrific ensemble comedy “Community” is, but I think “Parks and Rec” has the superior cast. And that’s hard for me to admit because I love Joel McHale and Alison Brie (and Donald Glover and Danny Pudi) so much, but what can I say? Ron Swanson is my spirit animal.

"I’m a simple man. I like pretty dark haired women and breakfast food."

In addition to being underwhelming from a humor standpoint, “Saturday Night Live’s” season premiere also featured two sketches that were strikingly similar to skits previously aired on other shows.

In SNL’s “Ladies Who Lunch,” Amy Poehler removed a small cowboy hat to reveal an even smaller hat, a joke that was done in a sketch called “Tiny Hats” that appeared on Adult Swim’s “Tim And Eric Awesome Show: Great Job!” Furthermore, SNL’s “Hair Restoration” used the exact same gag as “Pubic Hair Club for Men” that was on HBO’s “Hardcore TV” in the ’90s (video of all four sketches below).

Anyway, this has opened up a big can of worms about whether SNL stole the jokes, drew “inspiration” from the earlier incarnations, or even created them organically without being aware of the predecessors. Amy Poehler hosted the season premiere of “Saturday Night Live” this weekend, and it was okay, I guess. I forgot to DVR it, so I ended up watching most of it on Hulu, except for Katy Perry’s musical performances, because if I wanted to make my ears bleed I’d just jab these ice picks into them.

Anyhoo, I suppose there was some okay stuff, like the hair restoration pubes and cameos from Justin Timberlake, Tina Fey, and Jimmy Fallon in the opening monologue. But the whole reason for writing about this episode at all is — of course — Katy Perry’s God-crafted tits. In the Bronx Beat sketch (featuring Poehler and a guest appearance by Maya Rudolph — video below), Perry poked fun at her “Sesame Street” controversy by playing a teenager with huge jugs in an Elmo shirt. Great, thanks a lot, Katy Perry. Now I can’t watch “Sesame Street” without wanting to give Elmo a facial. More than I already did before, I mean.

What’s that? You want animated GIFs of jiggling tits? Well, it just so happens that’s in my job description. My parents are so proud!

This weekend’s Betty White-hosted “Saturday Night Live,” which featured musical guest Jay-Z and former female cast members like Tina Fey, Amy Poehler, and Molly Shannon, was the highest-rated episode of the show in a year and a half. Some thoughts:

• People are raving about how great this episode was, and I can’t help but attribute that to the Internet’s knee-jerk tendency toward hyperbole. So many subpar episodes get dismissed as the “worst ever” that when a pretty good episode comes along, it gets elevated to “AMAZING!” I mean, I enjoyed it, but let’s not lose our minds here.
• The presence of Fey, Poehler, et al. highlighted how bad the non-Wiig women are in the present cast. I never much liked Maya Rudolph when she was on the show, but she’s light years beyond the atrocity of Jenny Slate.
• Jay-Z is probably the coolest human being on the planet. And Bridget Kelly, who sang Alicia Keys’s hook on the “Empire State of Mind” part of his 8-minute medley, is welcome to wear that black dress to my apartment any time she wants.
• I will say this for Betty White: For the first time ever, I watched the entirety of a “Scared Straight” sketch.
• I thought the “Census” sketch (embedded below) was a smart and fitting follow-up to the Christopher Walken classic.

That’s about it. I could bitch about the lousy skits (Latin talk show with dancing), but there’s always something like that to complain about. Also embedded below is video of the “Debbie Downer” sketch that was cut due to time constraints. It’s nothing special, but it’s not like you’re too busy to watch. “Oh, I’ve got just enough time to read blogs, but I can’t be bothered to watch a video.” Yeah, sure thing, Doctor. The president’s on line two.

Tina Fey was a guest on “Late Night with Jimmy Fallon” last night, and her old “Weekend Update” co-anchor roped her into playing charades against another SNL team: Amy Poehler and Seth Meyers (Of course, the best “Weekend Update” team among this crowd was Poehler and Fey, but they didn’t team up in Charades.)

Video is below, and I have to credit Fallon & the “Late Night” team: the idea of watching people play Charades sounds completely stupid to me, but this is actually really entertaining. I got some good laughs out of this. None of them come from Seth Meyers, but there’s nothing unusual about that.

(Also: Is Amy Poehler pregnant again? Man, Will Arnett is wearin’ that out.)

Well, it’s official: Betty White really will be the host of “Saturday Night Live” on May 8th. Assuming, you know… I hate to sound so pessimistic, but the woman is 88 years old, people. I think she’s great, but I’m not going to let myself get too attached. Some details:

The Mother’s Day episode also will feature a reunion of six former female cast members, most of them moms: Tina Fey, Amy Poehler, Molly Shannon, Maya Rudolph, Ana Gasteyer and Rachel Dratch…

[Lorne] Michaels says that as the live show’s oldest host, she can perform “as much as she wants to do” but adds that the physical demands of the show led him to plan the cast reunion, though make no mistake: White is the solo host.

She’s flattered and flabbergasted by the attention: “It’s lovely, and at my age it’s certainly unexpected.” And she’s not worried about the workload: “I’ve got so much energy, it’s ridiculous. I love working. My schedule is a feverish one, and I’m used to that.”

I think it’s really cool that this all started with a Snickers commercial and a Facebook campaign, and Betty White is certainly a legendary comedic actress. But let’s not kid ourselves here: it’s still “Saturday Night Live.” There are going to be at least as many skits that annoy you with their crappiness as there will be genuinely funny material. But you’d be a fool not to watch. C’mon, who’s ever seen someone break a hip on live TV?

Questlove once wrote on Twitter that “Parks and Recreation” was the Wu-Tang Clan of comedy, and apparently that was inspiration enough for this Funny or Die video in which RZA auditions for the role of Leslie Knope (watch below).

I don’t know what else I really need to say here. I introduced the video, and there are jokes in the video. I shouldn’t have to write additional jokes as well. What am I, your little joke monkey? Why do people keep calling me a monkey? Is it my prehensile tail or the feces-throwing?
