A document published by “Weeds” writer/producer Stephen Falk has most TV websites talking about the cast that “Modern Family” could have had — maybe. Falk writes:

Found the Modern Family pilot script in some old folder on my computer and discovered this interesting cast breakdown with (mostly) temp/wishlist actors as models for the development executives. Very instructive as a writing practice (I do this as well), and interesting to see who they had in mind.

The notable names on the list are Craig T. Nelson as Jay (instead of Ed O’Neill), Lisa Kudrow as Claire (Julie Bowen), and Andy Richter as Mitchell (Jesse Tyler Ferguson). Check out the document below:

A few weeks back, NMA TV — the Taiwanese animators who make fabulous recreations of American news — made a video that recapped Conan O’Brien’s exit from NBC and return to TV on TBS. Conan then made a spoof of the animation on his show, which prompted NMA to make this video, which enumerates Conan’s evils (using enslaved child labor, for example) and demanding Andy Richter as payment so that they can make him an exhibit at the Taipei zoo.

To recap: this is an animated joking response to an animated spoof of an animated light-hearted version of an entertainment news story. *BRAAAAAAHHHHMMM*

Yesterday, in my excitement over Jon Glaser wearing a suit made of puppies for Adult Swim’s “Delocated,” I overlooked the genesis of the phenomenon: Andy Richter had previously donned a coat lined with puppies for the short-lived but excellent “Andy Richter Controls the Universe.”

As someone who dicks around in Photoshop for a couple hours every day, it’s a relief to see other people wasting their time in that program to get a couple of cheap laughs. This Facebook page features the Top 25 creations of “Cocoshopped 2.0″ (previous editions here and here). In case you’re one of those people who doesn’t have all day to browse the Internet, I’ve put the best of the best below. And damn, the Sistine Chapel one above is terrific; I love the inclusion of La Bamba, Andy Richter, Max Weinberg, and — most of all — the Tom Cruise wax figure. That smile from the Uncanny Valley haunts my dreams.

Man, who else is looking forward to TWO WHOLE DAYS of no Conan news this weekend? I love the guy, but I’m really looking forward to this whole thing being over… and according to The Daily Beast, it will be soon. O’Brien will receive an undisclosed buyout, and — contrary to Jeff Zucker’s threats — will be able to work for another network as soon as he likes.

In other “Tonight Show” news that people are talking about, Conan put the show up for sale on Craigslist (video here), and he also addressed the offer he received to appear in a porn. There are some pretty good porn titles in his list, but I’m disappointed that they went with “Crammin’ O’Brien” when “Bonin’ or Cryin’” would have been so much better.

And just for fun — and because I’m running out of cats and dogs to Photoshop into my stock Conan O’Brien picture — above is an old clip from “Late Night” where Conan & friends play Led Zeppelin’s “Dazed and Confused” that includes an awesome dream sequence in which Conan kills George Plimpton.
