Antoine Dodson Sings ‘Bed Intruder’ Live at the BET Awards

Antoine Dodson, the Alabama man who went from colorful interview to viral star, performed his popular “Bed Intruder” song with Michael Gregory of Auto-Tune the News last night at the BET Awards. It’s enjoyable partly because it’s such a catchy song, partly because Dodson is such a great story (he was able to move his family out of the projects thanks to the song), but mostly because Michael Gregory has to be whitest person to ever appear on BET.

The thin frame, the baggy clothes, the shaggy hair and thick-framed glasses while singing falsetto and playing the keyboard… it’s incredible. It’s like a perfect cocktail of non-threatening white person characteristics. The only way he could be less intimidating is if he had leukemia and a wheelchair.

Animated GIFs of Chris Brown Crying

The BET Awards were on, uh, BET last night, and I’m going to go ahead and assume that awards were given to black entertainers. The highlights — as far as I can tell from various recaps — were Chris Brown breaking down into tears during a tribute to Michael Jackson — and a tribute to Prince while Prince wore a shirt with Prince on it:

Anyway, I think that’s all the highlights I need: Chris Brown crying and Prince being awesome. If you’re looking for more on the BET Awards, there are more GIFs at fourfour, videos of the performances at Real Talk NY, and an Asian toddler riding a pug.

MICHAEL VICK GETS REALITY SHOW ON BET

Michael Vick is out of jail, back in the NFL, and coming to BET. The former #1 draft pick and present third-string quarterback will be featured in a BET docu-series tentatively titled “The Michael Vick Project.”

“I just want people to really get to know me as an individual,” Vick said last week in an interview from his home in Philadelphia. “What I want to do is change the perception of me. I am a human being. I’ve made some mistakes in the past, and I wish it had never happened. But it’s not about how you fall, but about how you pick yourself up.” [...]

That may be difficult. Officials with People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals expressed skepticism about the project. “People who abuse animals don’t deserve to be rewarded,” said PETA spokesman Dan Shannon. “They shouldn’t be given multimillion-dollar contracts… or given the privilege of being a role model. [LA Times]

Man, it’s amazing the way PETA can always make me side with whatever they don’t like. And I like animals. If they’re wearing clothes. About the only thing PETA and I can agree to hate is Jay Leno. They don’t like the way he supports Chicken McNuggets, and I don’t like the way he causes cancer and runs over children with his vintage cars. Probably. I admit, I’m just guessing about the cancer thing.
