Here is a video of a Telemundo weatherlady named Ericka Pino being the victim of a green screen prank. I don’t know if this whole thing is staged or not (why would a television professional wear a color that matches the green screen?), but to be honest, I really don’t care. AT ALL. In fact, I’m just going to cover my eyes and ears and refuse to do any more research on this clip, because it’s too perfect as it is. I have been laughing at it for 20 straight minutes and I have no intention of stopping. Not today, at least.

I swear to God if any of you ruin this for me I will turn this blog right around. Now shut up, sit down, and enjoy.

Big ups to Robopanda for the tip

This video of news bloopers that took place (or were uncovered) in 2011 has been making the rounds over the past day or so, but you would be an insane person to assume I wouldn’t post it here. I have said many, many times that I am completely in the tank for live news bloopers. On the list of things I love unconditionally, they come in somewhere very near the top, alongside such titans as breakfast sandwiches and the video for “Gravel Pit” by Wu-Tang Clan. So if you slap together six minutes of them back-to-back-to-back, I am all the way in. No questions asked. Especially if you lead the whole thing off with a ding-a-ling trying to fly a jetpack and dumping himself right into a giant body of water.

What can I say? I’m a simple man.

Bill Clinton and Mindy Kaling were on “The Today Show” this morning to talk about holiday books, and during their discussion Ann Curry made one of the more embarrassing slips of the tongue you can imagine. And by that I mean she said “semen.” In front of Bill Clinton.

We’ve had some fun with Ann Curry around here before (“Good morning good morning everybody, in the news this morning good morning”), but this one’s perfectly understandable. I imagine when you sit down to talk with Bill Clinton your brain is just going apesh-t repeating “DON’T SAY SEMEN DON’T SAY SEMEN PLEASE GOD DON’T SAY SEMEN” over and over while you try to stare him in the eye and act as normal as possible. Then they give her a name that starts with S-E-A like “Seamus”? That’s just unfair, regardless of the name’s actual pronunciation. If I didn’t know better, I’d think this was a set up. Probably that goon Lauer. People who travel around the world in secrecy are not to be trusted.

This clip doesn’t need much by way of introduction. In the process of throwing it back to the studio, the reporter tries to congratulate one of the anchors on his alma mater, the Indiana Hoosiers, defeating the top-ranked Kentucky Wildcats at basketball a few days ago. Unfortunately, while his brain was driving along towards this nice, personal touch, his penis grabbed the wheel and jerked him right off the road and over a cliff. Penises can be real dicks.

Just one note in closing: News people, please stop referencing Youtube after one of you makes a slip-up. I don’t want you acknowledging me and my viral video leering. You’re ruining the illusion! From now on, you stick to giggling and facepalming, got it? Like the lady in this clip, who just smiles and puts her face in her cans. HER HANDS! I MEAN “HER HANDS”! She just smiles and puts her face in her hands!

Dammit.

My standard caveat with gag reels is that people messing up a comedic performance is not as entertaining as the successful execution of it. And yet, when Danger Guerrero let me know that the gag reel for Season 2 of “Community” was online, I couldn’t help but watch it. I just like all of these actors too much — and the way they interact — not to do so. For some reason I find Gillian Jacobs asking Danny Pudi about her “booger status” enjoyable, especially since she follows it up by picking her nose on camera.

Anyway, the bloopers run about 24 minutes across the span of four videos, so I don’t expect you to watch the entire reel. But they’re here if you want to kill some time at work. I mean, it’s not like you’re busy curing cancer. “Oh, I can’t possibly watch 24 minutes of video, I’ve got way too many other blogs to read.”

This is supposedly footage of a reporter struggling to file a story from a G.O.P. party back in the ’80s, and while I can’t vouch for the veracity of that premise, I did take immense delight in the reporter’s growing frustration at the noise and people surrounding him. It’s like a precursor of Bill O’Reilly’s famous “We’ll do it live!” outburst, but with a snazzy beard like Dr. Benton Quest. More news people need to have beards besides Wolf Blitzer. Maybe Anderson Cooper should get one — er, grow one. Put those rumors to rest. You know, the rumors that he can’t grow a beard.

Ordinarily I find gag reels a complete bore, especially if they’re from a sitcom — I prefer to hear the jokes told correctly. But this gag reel from Season 6 of “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia” (video below) definitely breaks the mold. Not only was I laughing through most of this, but it cemented my desire to just follow Charlie Day around non-stop and listen to him interact with the rest of the world. Everything he does is funny. I want to hire him to break the news to me any time someone in my family dies. “Ha ha ha, my parents were in a horrible car accident?!? Oh, Charlie, that’s too rich!”

These last couple days, I’ve been doing everything I can to not think about how all the money I’ve saved has evaporated with the stock market plummeting. Thankfully, Barney Frank took a break from talking about the economy to fart on live television. It’s the small pleasures that get us through life.

The big news thing today is Rupert Murdoch’s hearing before British Parliament, where the billionaire media tycoon under fire for the News of the World wire-tapping scandal was hit in the face with a pie by a comedian who goes by the name Jonnie Marbles (pictured). Unfortunately, the video of the live feed was on someone else at the moment of the attack, but the camera angle DID switch in time to show Murdoch’s wife clock Marbles.

Marbles’s blog, Anarch*ish*, seems to be an mildly anarchist screed about British politics. I can’t be certain, because it’s written in British and therefore almost impossible to decipher. Everything’s all “loo” and “bobby” and “knackered” and “cancelled” with L’s.

Just before delivering the pie, Marbles tweeted “It is a far better thing that I do now than I have ever done before #splat” — not exactly an endorsement for a life well-lived. His ex-girlfriend, Elise Bramich, then hilariously live-tweeted her realization of what had happened.

The pie attack was followed with a camera angle that gave Murdoch horns:

The clip below is short and excellent: a be-jetpacked man named John is supposed to introduce Fox 5′s “Hello San Diego,” but instead he loses control, bumps into reporter Matt Johnson, and crashes into the water. It’s sublime. *kisses fingers*

By the way, in case you want to see one of these water-powered jetpacks working properly, here’s one flying around set to theme from 2001: A Space Odyssey. But I think I prefer the crash video. No, I definitely prefer the crash video. The world needs more videos of jetpack crashes.
