This cheerful penis surgery photo appeared on Deadspin without any context, but if I had to wager a guess, it has something to do with Debra Messing’s trip to Zimbabwe, where the actress/Population Services International Ambassador promoted stopping the spread of HIV/AIDS.

Messing is in Zimbabwe celebrating organizations, donors and individuals who have contributed to the substantial decline in HIV prevalence rates in the country. Over the past six years Zimbabwe has seen a dramatic reduction in the adult HIV prevalence rate, from approximately 25 percent in 2003 to 14 percent today.

That 14% with HIV is still approximately 14% more than the ratio of characters in “Will and Grace” with the virus. Which is surprising considering that Jack got around like Freddie Mercury.
