Joey Lauren Adams is going to be in season 2 of the Diablo Cody-penned “United States of Tara” where she will play a straight barmaid who falls deeply in love with Tara’s butched-out alter ego Buck.

This feels oddly close to the role she played in Chasing Amy where she played a gay bar singer who fell in love with Ben Affleck’s femme-y alter ego Ben Affleck.

I only watched the first episode of the first season of this show and decided to hate it.  The show is actually pretty good, but I hate Diablo Cody and I’ll be god damned if I give that stupid stripper a nickel bag of support.  How do my sour grapes taste, Diablo?  (Did I mention I am a failed screenwriter?)

Coming up on next Tuesday’s “90210,” Tori Spelling returns to the show to revive her famous character Donna Martin.  Famous for being the second-most unattractive chick on the original version of the show (sorry, Gabrielle Carteris).  In this alternate reality, Donna has become a fashion designer and has earned the honor of dressing uber-hipstress screenwriter Diablo Cody for the red carpet.

Video below is courtesy TV Addict.  Questions to ask yourself as you watch:  Is it still painful to watch Tori Spelling act?  Is it possible that Diablo Cody’s woodenness actually makes Tori look better?  Would I have loved to be an extra in a famous episode of “90210″ so I could have shouted, “Donna Martin masturbates!”?  Yes, yes, and most definitely yes.

“This PTA meeting is OVER!”

In a stunning new revelation, Toni Collette’s character on “The United States of Tara” (aka “U.S.Tay.”) will develop yet another split personality… and maybe more after that!  Wow, this series is in no way jumping shark whatsoever.

The character who suffers multiple personality disorder will not only have three but four different personas which reportedly will be teased in the end of next episode. Writer Diablo Cody said, “There may be other alters.”

Outside her true self, Tara… has possessed three personalities which are suburb housewife named Alice, beer-gulping male named Buck and a wild and pot-smoking teenager named T. The additional personality is not yet revealed though whether it will be a female or male.

Frankly I don’t think it makes sense for her to have male personalities.  It’s just not realistic.  You put a male personality in a woman’s body, you better believe the only thing that happens during that episode is a really long shower that results in the cleanest pair of breasts on the planet.
