On the heels of the Windows 7 commercial that used a kitten in marshmallows and a bunny wearing a hat come two more TV spots of note that use adorable animals dressed in clothes (see below). The first is a New York Lottery ad featuring baby animals wearing pajamas that is heartbreakingly adorable. Kittens, puppies, piglets, baby chicks — all in pajamas, all very sleepy. I want to make delicate, tender love to the creative team behind that commercial.

The second video is less adorable but still charming in that it features a dog wearing clothes and a fake mustache. It reminds me that I need to make a Halloween costume for my dog. I was thinking of making a Star Trek dog outfit, since I have plenty of cardboard boxes and Bud Light empties, but now I think I want to get a mustache involved somehow. Maybe she can go as Freddie Mercury?

And this, people, is why Conan O’Brien is my favorite: in a segment called “A Tonight Show Mini-Dose of Joy,” show staffers brought out a little pen filled with puppies dressed as cats.  It’s the perfect storm of everything I want in a blog post: Conan, puppies, cat costumes.  This can only be bested by Christina Hendricks officiating a ferret fight, with the ferrets dressed as a ninja and a Civil War general.

These dogs approve.

Today’s been a real downer so far, what with all the death and divorce.  But that’s why God invented dogs surfing!  Yay!  Awww, look at ‘em on the surfboards!  Who’s a good boy?  Who’s a good little surfer???  You are!  Yes you are!

Ahem.  Anyway, I am cheered by this puff piece from the “Today” show (video below).  Also, there’s a much better, longer video at TMZ (via BWE).  At the very least, these surfing dogs are better than this A-hole penguin.  He thinks he’s so great just because he’s wearing Kanye’s shutter shades.  What a dick.

Today is slow and crappy and everyone with a decent job has the day off, which means that we need to spice things up a little bit around here.  And you know what that means: nine minutes and 46 seconds of dogs acting out an old World War I movie.  Here’s what I can promise you:

-This line: “We will lure the enemy with these irresistible wieners.”
-A gay pit bull machine gunner
-A Boston terrier behind enemy lines in drag as a nurse
-Dogs in monocles galore

At almost ten minutes, it’s way longer than what I’m usually willing to post, but I’ll be honest with you: ten minutes isn’t nearly long enough.  I want to watch this forever.  (Video below)
