This Looks Like a Fun Game Show

11.04.10 Written by Matt

Here’s a fun clip from Game Show Network’s “Catch 21″ in which a contestant named Eve tries to show off her flexibility and instead ends up showing off her bare breast. Let that be a lesson to you, ladies: always wear a bra for television appearances. Or don’t. Yeah, now that I think about, definitely don’t.

You’ll also recognize the host of this show: none other than Alfonso Ribeiro, better known from here until the end of time as Carlton Banks. Frankly, I’m kind of disappointed that he doesn’t break out “the Carlton” dance when breasts get exposed on his show. I figured that would’ve been in his contract.

(Video below. Thanks to RoboPanda for the tip.)

‘Baggage’ Is the New Worst Dating Show

04.19.10 Written by Matt

Now that VH1 has abandoned the fame-hungry leeches who suckle on the infected boil of Hollywood that is reality dating shows, where will shameless retards go to meet members of the opposite sex? Most likely, it will be “Baggage,” which debuts this evening on the Game Show Network.

Everyone brings baggage into a relationship-but only on GSN’s new dating game show Baggage do three contestants and one “dater” bring it all to the very first date! On each half-hour episode of Baggage, Jerry Springer guides the fun as one dater chooses among three contestants who reveal the intimate secrets and hidden flaws that are typically kept under wraps to impress a first date. Each contestant enters with three suitcases-small, medium and large-containing the quirky, annoying and sometimes truly shocking “baggage” that may or may not eliminate the contestants from competition, to the accompaniment of the dater’s tagline, “I’m sorry, but you have too much baggage.” [GSN]

The clip above is a fun sample that feels like a skit from “SNL” (one of the relatively funny ones). Everyone’s like, “Basically, I’m a douchebag!” And I’m not even paraphrasing. But look at the bright side, at least Jerry Springer will be there to lend some dignity to this.

UPDATE: Video works now.

THIS IS TOTALLY NECESSARY

bob-barker

The Game Show Network is actually going to host and air the first-ever Game Show Awards to honor “classic and modern game shows.”  Now, I know what you’re thinking.  You’re thinking, “That sounds f-cking idiotic and pointless.”  But wait until you hear more about it before you rush to judgment.

Special honors are on tap for now-retired host of The Price is Right Bob Barker, Let’s Make a Deal‘s Monty Hall and game show producer Mark Goodson, who produced Price, Family Feud, I’ve Got a Secret and dozens of other programs…

The awards show will also be a game show itself, with the studio audience given a shot to win prizes by playing some of their favorite games on stage.

So, yeah.  F-cking idiotic and pointless.  Does Bob Barker really need to be honored?  It’s not like he did cancer research or saved lives or built schools in impoverished nations.  He read note cards and held a skinny microphone for a couple decades.  All things considered, I think banging the show models is more than enough of a reward.

Full list of nominees below.  “Oooh, Jeff Foxworthy! He brings such gravitas to that show with the functional retards!”
