New on TLC: ‘Juan y Katia Mas Siete’
08.25.10TLC is the undisputed industry leader in creating shows about parents with huge litters of children, which is why it’s the #1 network among people who find zoos intellectually challenging. Having successfully unleashed the Gosselins on America, TLC will give the format a spicy Latin twist this fall with “Sextuplets Take New York.”
The network has ordered eight episodes of “Sextuplets Take New York,” which will chronicle a family billed as America’s first Latino sextuplets. It is set to premiere Sept. 14.
The series revolves around Victor and Digna Carpio, who are raising four boys and two girls in Queens, N.Y. All are 22 months old, recently have mastered the art of walking and soon will be talking. Each episode follows the daily challenges of raising the babies (50 diaper changes a day) and a 9-year-old son in a modest-sized home. [The Live Feed]
The Carpios were first featured on Discovery Health’s “Expecting 15 Babies,” and this video of the parents anguishing over the babies’ health after they were born 15 weeks premature is actually kind of touching. It’s amazing how you can feel sympathy for a family when the mother isn’t a world-class bitch.
