Melissa & Joey (ABC Family) — Series premiere. When I first saw the poster for this revival of ’90s teen stars starring in a rip-off of “Who’s the Boss?,” I laughed out loud. For more on this show, check out the abortion of a
laugh track in the promo below.
Big Lake (Comedy Central) – Series premiere. Chris Gethard stars in the role abdicated by Jon Heder in this Will Ferrell/Adam McKay-produced comedy. Possibly good: Horatio Sanz and Chris Parnell co-star. Definitely bad: there’s a laugh track. (Note: Paste seems to think it’s a subversive gimmick.)
Louie (FX) — I’m going to be sad when this delightful season is over. To make amends for the atrocious “Melissa & Joey” video below, scroll down for my favorite exchange from last week’s episode.
White Collar (USA) — John Larroquette guest stars. You know, the other day, I was thinking how Neil Patrick Harris’s Barney on “How I Met Your Mother” is a 21st-century version of Dan Fielding from “Night Court.” And I love NPH, but no one can touch Larroquette in the role. Dan taught me most of how I interact with women. *gets slapped*
Shaq vs. (ABC) — Shaq gets in a cooking battle with Rachael Ray. Given her credentials, I like his chances.
