Minka Kelly and Rachael Taylor are in negotiations to play the other two Angels in the ABC remake of “Charlie’s Angels,” joining the previously cast Annie Ilonzeh. Kelly, of course, is widely known for her roles in “Friday Night Lights” and falling into the perverted clutches of Derek Jeter. Taylor is an Australian actress you might not remember from Transformers because, you know, Megan Fox was onscreen, too.

Kelly was a name the producers kept coming back to and they are now reworking the role to tailor it to her. In the current breakdown, the character, previously named Marisa, is described as a former U.S. Marine, a weapons expert trained in all forms of hand-to-head combat and a neat freak.

Taylor’s Abby is the youngest and sassiest of the Angels, the beautiful and privileged dauther of a notorious Wall Street crook who is an expert con artist herself as well as a Krav Maga expert. [Deadline]

Needless to say, if women in the Marines looked like Minka Kelly, I’d still be on active duty. “Lack of hot chicks” was my primary reason for getting out of the service.

And poor Rachael Taylor. Overshadowed by arguably the sexiest woman in the world in Transformers, and now she’ll be sharing the small screen with the official Sexiest Woman in the World. Can’t a smoking hot blonde Australian girl catch a break?

Minka Kelly of “Friday Night Lights” did a photo shoot for the new issue of GQ, and whaddaya know, the woman deemed the Sexiest Woman Alive by Esquire three months ago is still somewhat attractive. Funny how that works.

Anyway, the interview at GQ is brief and mentions a certain baseball player who ruined my enjoyment of Minka, so let’s get straight to the photos by Ellen von Unwerth, including a Warming Glow EXCLUSIVE: the full banner image in glorious high resolution, not just a big version of a low-resolution picture like other blogs are giving you. Esquire has named Minka Kelly of “Friday Night Lights” the Sexiest Woman in the World, which basically means she was the first starlet who was available for the interview and photo shoot. But who am I to nitpick with the selection process? Esquire took sexy photos, and I’m gonna lorem ipsum for a while to make this look like a respectable operation. Look, she talks!

“My mom lived a fast life,” she says now. “It was all about what we could do to have fun with nothing. She — for most of my life, she was a dancer. An exotic dancer. She was a stripper. Um, so she would come home at like three, four o’clock in the morning, and sometimes she would have a really great night, and so she would wake me up in the middle of the night and we’d go to Ralphs and go grocery shopping.”

Mother of the Year.

“And that was so much fun. We’d have the whole grocery store to ourselves, and we would have a blast and buy a hundred dollars in groceries. And it was just the best day ever. The best day.” [Esquire]

It’s pilot season right now, which means that much of the news coming out of Hollywood is about new shows you won’t see until the fall starring people you may or may not remember from other shows. So from time to time I’ll be filling you in on new projects that are coming down the pipe. Today: pilots for “Friday Night Lights” cheerleader Minka Kelly and “The Shield” badass Michael Chiklis.

Kelly has been tapped as a lead on CBS’ comedy pilot “True Love.” The project, from writer Matt Tarses (“Scrubs”), is an ensemble comedy about four friends in New York… who are looking for love.

Kelly will play Kate, a clean-scrubbed Midwestern who is a sweet but strong-willed romantic. Kate falls in love with Henry at the top of the Empire State Building and often tackles her cousin and best friend, Connie, to the ground in order to get her way. [THR]

Chiklis is set to topline Greg Berlanti’s ABC drama pilot “No Ordinary Family.” ”Family,” from ABC Studios, centers on an American family whose members have special abilities. Chiklis, who has experience playing a superhero from his turn in the “Fantastic Four” movie franchise, will play the father. [THR]

As usual, it’s too early to make any ironclad statements until next fall, but we can make a few assumptions based on the networks: Kelly’s CBS sitcom will be blandly efficient despite its unoriginality, and the ABC drama will be especially appealing to women. I mean, obviously. Look at Chiklis. He’s like Brad Pitt without hair.
