TAYLOR SWIFT AND T-PAIN AT THE CMT AWARDS

Squeaky-clean and well-adjusted teen sensation Taylor Swift opened up last night’s Country Music Awards Country Music Television Awards with a rap video featuring omnipresent Auto Tuner T-Pain (see video below).  As you can see, she’s no Natalie Portman on Saturday Night Live (also below), but considering Swift doesn’t drink or swear or — from what I can tell — have impure thoughts of any kind, she manages to do pretty well here.  Props to the CMT Awards for doing something that made me notice they exist.

Swift also won Video of the Year and Female Video of the Year, then closed out the show by singing “Pour Some Sugar on Me” with Def Leppard.  And it’s good to see Def Leppard working.  You can catch them next week at the Emerald Queen Casino in Fife, Washington and on August 11th at the Slinger Community Center in Slinger, Wisconsin (note: Bingo will be moved up an hour to accommodate the show).

T-PAIN AS FRYLOCK IN LIVE-ACTION ‘ATHF’

Season 6 of [adult swim]‘s “Aqua Teen Hunger Force” is in full swing, and the show’s creators are still getting high and doing things that make no sense, with varying results.  Up next for the New Jersey crimefighters: a live-action episode on May 31st in which T-Pain will guest-star as Frylock.

Apparently, Pain is a huge fan of the show (he often wears an Ignignokt pendant around his neck and actually did the voice for the “Die” ventriloquist dummy for the “Dummy Love” ep) so he was more than happy to wear his signature stovepipe hat in french-fry yellow for the part. [EW PopWatch]

There’s also Dave Long Jr as Carl, Jon Benjamin (“Important Things with Demetri Martin”) as Shake, and an exercise ball as Meatwad (pictured in thumbnail w/ T-Pain), but… I dunno about this.  Part of the fun of watching “ATHF” — aside from being high or drunk — is seeing an anthropomorphized floating box of fries or a milkshake with hands and a face get cut to bloody pieces.  And there’s also the issue of Shake and Fry (and to a lesser extent Carl) having distinctly different voices.  I guess what I’m saying is, the whole episode better be set to Auto-Tune.
